Our Mission

At VRC, our mission is clear: we aim to honor the contributions of veterans and first responders by addressing their most critical needs. Through innovative programs and community outreach, we strive to improve the quality of life for those who have served, addressing issues such as mental health, addiction, and the transition from service in uniform to civilian life.

A Unique Approach

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based interventions and pragmatic strategies tailored to the specific needs of veterans and first responders. We leverage our CEO’s extensive experience and educational background—a Master’s Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, alongside internships in residential PTSD and Homelessness Outreach at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System—to inform our initiatives.

Leadership and Expertise

Our Board of Directors includes Retired Military Officers, Senior Noncommissioned Officers, and professionals with Doctorates in Social Work specializing in military-related trauma, ensuring that our programs are informed by the latest research and best practices. Additionally, we incorporate innovative therapies, including Equine Assisted Therapy and support services for Gold Star families, to provide comprehensive care.

Veterans Resiliency Retreats

One of our originally designed flagship programs, the Veterans Resiliency Retreats, emphasizes peer support, holistic evidence based interventions and community engagement. This initiative connects veterans and first responders in a supportive environment with mental health professionals, and equine assisted services fostering resilience and reducing feelings of isolation during critical times.
